He married his mother Semiramis and started the worship of the stars which we now call astrology. The tower he built was in opposition to God and the religion he started has spread throughout the earth. After his death, his wife claimed to have the birth of her son Tammuz without natural conception. She claimed Nimrod had become the “sun god” and she was the “Queen of Heaven” represented by the moon (Jeremiah 7:18, 44:17-19 & 25). Her son, the “reincarnated” Nimrod, she claimed was the god of agriculture whose death every fall was followed by his “resurrection” every spring at the end of a “holy week” celebration. Semiramis ruled over her kingdom through the power of the Chaldeans priesthood (Dan. 2:10-11). They were celibate men who took confessions for the forgiveness of sins while wearing red cloaks in their religious ceremonies. They practiced astrology and magic. Today the Chaldeans priesthood survives in all its earthly glory as the Roman Catholic priesthood and is now the seat of the spiritual city of Babylon (example, see Rev. 11:8 for the spiritual name of Jerusalem). They revel in their “Queen of Heaven” who is often portrayed standing atop a crescent moon. This is also the priesthood that has perpetrated centuries of religious persecution against the true church. This is the church that at its deepest inner circle is the habitation of devils and is the house of the vilest evil imaginable. This is the *“woman”* that John could only stand in wonder when Jesus revealed the truth to him. This is the *“woman”* that rules the earth. The second leg of iron is the *“scarlet colored beast,”* full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. These seven heads and ten horns are the kings of the earth that will give their power unto the “beast” who himself is the eighth (Rev. 17:11). This is the leg of iron that submits to the woman, seeking its own power in opposition to the one true God. Prideful and scornful rulers over the nations, they know all the darkest secrets of the whore with whom they commit fornication. They are evil men in high places who deceive those that they rule through the wine of their fornication for earthly riches. These are the men that carry the “woman” by their might and trample the earth beneath their feet. This is the second leg of iron. The scarlet colored beast has seven heads and ten horns. Here the Lord presents a pure word puzzle that separates “the scarlet colored” beast from “the beast” (Rev. 17:11). In this puzzle, the Bible identifies from which nation the Antichrist will spring forth and where he will not be from!! Here the Bible uses parallel verses to speak of first, the “scarlet colored beast” (Rev. 17:10) and then “the beast” (Rev. 17:11). The time that “is” was the actual time in which John wrote down these words at the end of the first century. This one small point must be kept close to mind to avoid the many false teachings on these verses. The first line of reasoning on Rev. 17:10 tells us that there are seven kings: “five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come.” The five that have fallen here are *“mountains”* or *“kings,”* on which the *“woman”* first sat (Rev. 17:9). They succeeded the first kingdom started by Nimrod in Babel where the “woman” first appeared. The first of the five fallen kings is therefore Babel, just as we are told in Genesis chapters ten and eleven. Most prophecy “experts” completely ignore Babel as one of these five that have fallen. There are three reasons that we should start with Babel. First, it was the first kingdom mentioned in the Bible after the flood, and it stood against the Lord. Second, as we have discussed above, *“MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,”* spiritually started in Babel and is the first mountain on which the woman sat. Third, for those that start with Egypt as the first kingdom that has fallen, they interject Assyria as the second kingdom of the five that have fallen. However, the kingdom of Judah remained in the hands of the Lord as Assyria trampled the northern kingdom, yet they never were able to tread down Jerusalem (Luke 21:24). Assyria did not rule over the city or the temple that the living God dwelt in and it was not until Nebuchadnezzar lay siege and trampled Jerusalem that the times of the Gentiles came to pass. Therefore, Assyria did not rule over God’s Kingdom situated in Jerusalem and is not one of the five that have fallen. The five that have fallen are therefore: 1) Babel 2) Egypt 3) Babylon 4) Media-Persia 5) Greece The sixth head of the scarlet colored beast is the one that “is.” This is the kingdom that ruled at the time that John was told to write down the things that he saw (Rev. 1:19). This is the fourth beast of Daniel that is dreadful and devours the whole earth (Daniel 7:23). This is the Roman Empire that “is”: 6) Rome The next kingdom is the one that is *“not yet come”* (Rev. 17:10). These are the ten kings which have received no kingdom as yet but receive power as kings *“one hour”* with *“the beast”* (Rev. 17:12). This is the seventh mountain on which the woman will sit. These are the ten kings that shall arise out of Daniel’s fourth kingdom (Daniel 7:24) and will give their power and strength unto the beast which is the eighth (Rev. 17:11). 7) The Ten Kings The one that *“is,”* the one that is *“not yet come,”* and the beast which is *“the eighth,”* are all once again foreshadowed sequentially in the book of Daniel as *“the fourth beast,” “the ten kings out of this kingdom,”* and another that “shall rise after them” ( Daniel 7:24 ). These are parallel witnesses to the sixth, seventh and eighth kings in Revelation 17:9-11. The eighth king is not ruled by the woman and is the *“beast.”* This is the *“Antichrist”* in whom Satan himself will rule the world through terror and wickedness. These seven are the *“kings of the earth”* that together are the “scarlet colored beast” with seven heads and ten horns. There is another mysterious figure that arises in Revelation chapter twelve that also has seven heads. The great red dragon that is “that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan,” which “deceiveth” the whole world (Rev. 12:9). His identity is best seen in relation to the “beast” and the “scarlet colored beast,” recognizing first that all three characters in Revelation chapter twelve (the woman, the man child, and the dragon) have a double prophetic fulfillment as a “person” and a “people.” We see this first in the woman who gave birth unto the man child that will “rule all nations with a rod of iron” and be caught up to the throne of God. The person that this man child could only be is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Therefore, we also know that the woman that gave birth to Jesus was the person named Mary. Yet at the time of the end, during the Tribulation, the “great red dragon” persecutes the “woman” that here, can only represent the people of Israel or the Jews. Therefore we can also apply this concept to the people of the “man child,” which is the church (Rev. 2:26-27), and also to the people of the “dragon” “where Satan’s seat is” (Rev. 2:13). This we know is Rome where the woman sits on seven mountains and is that great city that rules over the kings of the earth. Therefore, the prophecies of Revelation chapter twelve must be viewed as follows: 1) The Woman: (Gen. 37:9-11) * the person: Mary * the people: Israel 2) The Man child: * the person: Jesus * the people: The true church 3) The Dragon: * the person: Satan (Rev. 12:9, 20:2) * the people: “Where Satan’s seat is” (Rev. 2:13) (Rome) First, the Woman is directly referenced to the children of Israel and thus the nation of Israel in Joseph’s dream with the sun, the moon and the eleven stars bowing down to him.(Gen. 37:9-11) The stars therefore represent the twelve children of Israel with Joseph being the twelfth. “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.” (Revelation 12:5) One of the most direct ways in which to identify this woman is by identifying her man child, who in the person could only be Jesus who is caught up to heaven after His resurrection and will rule with a rod of iron during His thousand year reign. (Mark 16:19, Luke 24:51, Acts 1:9-11; Psalm 2: 7-9) Likewise, the man child is also the church that shall be caught up in the rapture directly to heaven. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 4:1-2) Further, Jesus, who is the Son of God will rule with a rod of iron, but so likewise are those that are able to overcome going to rule with Christ and bear a rod of iron as well. 26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. (Revelation 12:26-27) Thus, the references to the man child have scriptural ties to both Jesus (the person) and the church (the people of the man child) in other verses both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. In continuation of this, we thus can infer that the person of the woman who gave birth to Jesus must and can only be Mary. Likewise, we know that salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22) and that the new covenant through the blood of Jesus was by the fulfillment of the law of the Jews. Thus, once again, the church (the people of Jesus) is likewise also literally of the people of the Jews giving one more reference to the nation of Israel as the woman in Revelation chapter twelve. So, we can only come to better understand who this woman is by first identifying the man child and then secondarily by the references to the dream of Joseph that directly links this woman to only the children of Israel. From history, we know that it was the Roman Empire that waited to devour the man child as soon as he was born, and also persecuted the body of Christ from their earliest time. This was actually literally fulfilled by Herod who was not only the Jewish king of Israel at the time, but he was also part of the Roman Empire and was ruled by that great city that reigns over the kings of the earth which is Rome. Herod sought to devour the man child when he ordered all children two years old and younger to be killed. In this task, Herod deliberately understood the prophecy that the Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem, and it was to kill the Messiah Himself that Herod ordered this terrible slaughter. (Matthew 2:1-18) Further, we know by history and the Scriptures that Rome also persecuted the church and killed many of its followers including Paul the apostle by Nero. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. . . (II Timothy 4:6-8) ¶ The second epistle unto Timotheus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Ephesians, was written from Rome, when Paul was brought before Nero the second time. By this witness, the “people” of the Dragon are from Rome. Thereby, it is also the fourth beast, as represented in Revelation chapter seventeen by the “woman” (first leg of iron) atop the scarlet colored beast (second leg of iron). This is the fourth beast of Daniel chapter seven that is said to be both a king (Daniel 7:17) and a kingdom (Daniel 7:23). Here is another witness of the “person” of the fourth beast and the “people” of the fourth beast. When we apply this concept to the “great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads,” we can see clearly the presence of Satan in his earthly kingdoms. The power to rule the earth has been delivered to Satan and he gives this power to anyone who will worship him (Luke 4:5-7). The great red dragon is that old serpent, the Devil, and Satan (Rev. 12:9) which deceives the whole world. He has seven heads with seven crowns that represent the seven kings and kingdoms through which he rules the whole world. He deceives the whole earth through the mystery Babylon religion that intoxicates the inhabitants of the earth through the wine of her fornication. Therefore, just as we have seen that the two legs of iron represented the fourth beast of Daniel chapter seven, so likewise the dragon with seven heads and ten horns represents the woman atop the scarlet beast with seven heads and ten horns. Satan is the father of all lies (John 8:44). Eve was beguiled by the serpent and deceived by his lies (Gen. 3:13, I Tim. 2:14). From the time of the garden of Eden until he is cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:10), Satan will deceive the world. The definition of deceive is: to mislead the mind; to cause to err; to cause to believe what is false, or to disbelieve what is true; to impose on; to delude. This is why our Lord commands us to “Come out from among them, and be ye separate, . . .” (II Cor. 6:17). We are to have no concord with Belial. There is no agreement of the temple of the living God with idols (II Cor. 6:15-16). Idolatry is defined by the Bible as spiritual fornication (Rev. 2: 14 & 20). Webster defines idolatry as: 1) the worship of images, statues, pictures, etc. made by hands. 2) The worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, the moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals. As born again believers, we can easily judge the works of those in the Roman Catholic Church who bow down to the images of Mary and the Catholic saints. Yet many believers in our time have been deceived by the worship of heavenly bodies by Satan’s mystery Babylon religion and the traditions of men (Matthew 15:1-9). Quite simply, we are commanded to obey only the commandments of God and be separate from all the traditions of men. The Bible sets in order how we are to worship the Lord in Spirit and truth (John 4:23). There are only a few commandments and only a few ordinances given to us in the New Testament. Yet, there are many so called “Christian traditions” celebrated throughout the world that have their origins in the worship of the sun, the moon and the stars from pagan idolatry. All those that partake in these extra-Biblical traditions of men are deceived by Satan himself. Therefore, it is not only to those in the Roman Catholic Church that are warned to “. . . Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” (Rev. 18:4). Satan’s mystery Babylon religion is filled with exuberant music, earthly riches and great works of art. It is also filled with days and seasons of celebrations that are not commanded by our Lord. For those that come to church only on Christmas and Easter, they will probably never learn of the only two ordinances of the New Testament church that we are given to remember our Lord until he comes again, Baptism and the Lord’s table. In I Corinthians 11:24-26, Jesus Himself tells us to keep the Lord’s table in remembrance of Him and thereby show the Lord’s death until He comes. Likewise in baptism, we being dead to sins are buried with Him and risen with Him, forgiven of all our trespasses by His death (Colossians 2:11-14). Therefore, it is by His death that we are to remember Him until He comes again. Nowhere are we commanded to celebrate His birth in the New Testament as an ordinance. Certainly it is a joyous occasion to think upon His birth when the Word of God was made flesh (John 1:14). But indeed, it is not by His birth that we are saved but only by His death. For those of our family and friends that find a false comfort in the joy of Christmas, Easter egg hunts and chocolate Easter bunnies, yet never partake in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord, their blood shall be on the hands of all believers who partake in these celebrations that are based not on the ordinances of the Bible, but instead were first pagan sun god celebrations that were later "married" to Christian events. ( Rev. 18:2-4, Ezekiel 8:5-16)Yet what concord hath Christ with Belial? The answer is none. Easter is not derived from the Jewish passover, but instead comes from the pagan celebration of the goddess of the spring, Eastre. This celebration has direct roots to the celebration of the queen of heaven in Babel with the goddess Ishtar which is simply another name for Semiramis. The pagans celebrated Saturnalia at this time and the Romans held a festival on December 25 called Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, "the birthday of the unconquered sun." The Roman Catholic church incorporated these pagan traditions into their own mixture of Christianity and paganism. The Puritans did not celebrate Christmas because of this very fact. Ezekiel 8:17-18 leaves no mystery of what Gods judgement shall be for those who commit these abominations: “Then he said unto me, hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose. Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.” The Bible commands us: *“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord”* (II Cor. 6:17). In Jeremiah 10:2 the Lord also sent a warning to the house of Israel: “Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.” These admonishments apply to all believers of our age as well. We are therefore to be separate from all the commandments and traditions of men. Instead, we are to worship the Lord our God in Spirit and truth only (John 4:23). The great red dragon has seven heads and ten horns as does the scarlet colored beast (Rev. 17:3) and the beast that arises from the sea having seven heads and ten horns (Rev. 13:1). Just as Daniel spoke of four great beasts coming up from the sea, each one diverse from the other (Daniel 7:3), so does the dragon dwell in the midst of the sea. In Isaiah 27:1, the Scriptures testify of the dragon within the sea: “In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.” Likewise in Psalm 74:13-14, the Lord again testifies of the dragon in the sea: “Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.” The dragon, the beast and the woman atop the scarlet colored beast all have seven heads and ten horns. They all dwell in the midst of the sea and the waters which are the “peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues” (Rev. 17:15). The seven heads are the seven mountains on which the woman sits (Rev 17:9). Just as the woman is that great city that reigns over the kings of the earth literally in Rome. So likewise, spiritually, the city of Babylon and its mystery religion sit upon each kingdom of the dragon. Jerusalem was called Sodom and Egypt spiritually (Rev. 11:8). So likewise is each head or kingdom of the dragon spiritually Babylon. The beginning of the dragon’s kingdoms was in Babel where Nimrod, his wife Semiramus and her child Tammuz were the first head of the serpent (Gen. 10:8-10; Ezekiel 8:13-14). Here is where the dragon first brought sun god worship back to the earth after the flood and the worship of the “Queen of Heaven” filled the hearts of men that were against the Lord. The woman who sits a queen (Rev. 18:7) and is known as the lady of kingdoms (Isaiah 47:5) traveled next to Egypt where she dwelt as a dragon in the midst of her rivers: “Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.”(Ezekiel 29:3). In Ezekiel 29:4 &19, we continue to read: “But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales . . . Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.” King Nebuchadnezzar, who is the head of gold in Daniel 2:38, overcame the Egyptians. Egypt had reigned over the nations from the time of Abraham until the *“appointed time”* that the dragon departed from Egypt and then ruled through Babylon (Jeremiah 46:13-17 & 26). Indeed, destruction came against Egypt from the north (Jeremiah 46:20) and spoke with the voice of a “serpent”: “The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.” (Jeremiah 46:22). Nebuchadnezzar himself is referred to as a dragon: “Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.” (Jeremiah 51:34). (Please note that Assyria is thereby excluded as one of the seven kingdoms by virtue of the dragon departing from Egypt and going directly to Babylon at the start of the Times of the Gentiles). Therefore, the dragon dwells in the midst of the sea and sits upon the seven kingdoms of the woman who is the *“lady of kingdoms.”* This spiritual city reigns over the inhabitants of the earth who are intoxicated with the wine of her fornication. This is that great red dragon, the beast from the sea and the woman atop the scarlet colored beast who are the source of Mystery Babylon the Great. The great red dragon is the father of the children of pride and the father of lies. He is the serpent, that great red dragon who is Satan and the devil. The dragon reigns through these kings who likewise rule over the kingdoms of the sea. The peoples, nations, multitudes and tongues of those nations surrounding the Mediterranean sea obey the serpents’ voice. And at the appointed time one kingdom falls to the multitudes of the sea as another kingdom is set up. We continue to read in Jeremiah 51: 42 & 55: “The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof . . . Because the Lord hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:” The voice of the dragon was heard no more in Babylon and her *“sea”* was dried up (Jeremiah 51: 36). Then the sea of Cyrus king of the Medes overflowed the land of Babylon in the multitude of her waves (Isaiah 45:1, Jeremiah 51:42). The dragon has seven heads which are seven mountains on which the woman sits (Rev. 17:9). Five have fallen (Babel, Egypt, Babylon, Media-Persia and Greece). One is (Rome). And one is yet to come ( the ten toes of the Roman empire). The dragon is the woman atop the scarlet colored beast who dwells in the midst of the sea. Her waters cover the kingdoms of the earth in a multitude of waves. The queen of heaven sits upon her throne in the waters. This is Satan’s seat that now *“is.”* This is the sixth head in Rome. The seventh kingdom is *“not yet come.”* This is made up of the ten kings that will arise out of the sixth kingdom in Rome. In Daniel 2:41- 42, the ten toes are part of iron and part of clay. In Daniel chapter seven, the fourth beast has ten horns that shall arise out of the fourth kingdom, just as the ten toes were partly of iron (Daniel 7:24). These are the ten kings that are not yet come (Rev. 17:10) and shall rule one hour with the beast (rev. 17:12). This is the seventh head of the dragon and the seventh mountain on which the woman will sit. The dragon has seven crowns on its seven heads which represent the same seven kings on which the woman sits: “And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.” There is an *“eighth”* king which is the *“beast that was and is not,”* (Rev. 17:11). He is *“of the seven”* and comes up among the ten horns (Daniel 7:8; Rev 17:11 ). He is the beast that comes up out of the sea, “like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion:” (Rev. 13:2). This is the Antichrist who will rule over all the earth during the great tribulation Matthew 24:21). Therefore, the Antichrist will be from one of the seven kingdoms that the woman sits upon. The sixth (Rome), the seventh (the ten kings) and eighth kingdom (the beast) are all foreshadowed in Daniel chapter 7:24 as, respectively, the fourth kingdom (Rome), the ten horns (the ten kings) and the little horn (the beast) that comes up among them. Therefore, Daniel’s testimony establishes the four kingdoms that will rule during the Times of the Gentiles (Babylon to Rome) and the Lord’s revelation to John establishes the seven kings during the time of the kingdoms of the great red dragon (Babel to the Antichrist). These are parallel witnesses in the areas where they overlap and are not in any sense contradictory. The Times of the Gentiles is marked by the time that Jerusalem is trodden down. The time of the dragon is marked by the great whore that sits upon many waters and rules over all nations through the wine of her fornications with the kings of the earth. The queen of heaven sits on her seven thrones and even now reigns in Rome where Satan’s seat is. The Lamb will make war against the ten kings and the beast and will overcome them (Rev. 17:14; Isaiah 47:3; Daniel 2:44 - 45; Daniel 7:27). Another way in which the identity of the dragon is revealed to us is by examining the gifts of the *“dragon”* to *“the beast”* (Rev. 13:2). Here the *“dragon”* presents to *“the beast” “his power,” “and his seat,” “and great authority.”* Turning again to Revelation chapters seventeen and eighteen, we see another witness that confirms that the *“dragon”* is the *“woman atop the scarlet colored beast,”* which together are the fourth beast of Daniel chapters two and seven. In Revelation 17:12-13 we read: “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” In Revelation 13:2, it is the *“dragon”* that gives its power and authority to *“the beast.”* And in the above verses it is the “ten kings” that give their power and strength unto *“the beast.”* Interestingly, the words authority and strength have a single common meaning as *“legal and moral or rightful power.”* Therefore, this prophecy regards passing the strength and authority of the law from the *“dragon,”* which is represented in Revelation17:13 by one of the two legs of iron of the Roman Empire. The comparison to the dragon is completed by the gift of his *“seat”* which comes from the second leg of iron, the *“woman”* which sits on many waters (Rev.17:1). This is the *“woman”* that sits a queen (Rev. 18:7, Jeremiah 7:18, Jeremiah 44:18-25). This is that *“great city”* which rules over the kings of the earth (Rev.17:18). This is the *“dragon,”* the Devil and is where Satan’s seat is (Rev. 2:13). Therein, by his gifts we know the dragon, the Devil, Satan and where he dwells with his people in Rome. In summary, starting with the two legs of iron and the composite fourth beast in the book of Daniel, the book of Revelation likewise provides two witnesses of the fourth kingdom that rules in the times of the Gentiles. This is the *“woman”* astride “the scarlet colored beast” which is the second witness by John to Daniels’ two legs of iron. And the great red dragon with seven heads and seven crowns is John’s second witness to the composite beast of Daniel chapter seven, thereby revealing the character of this terrible kingdom. Therefore, just as we learned in mathematics that symbolically “A=B=C=D,” so also, symbolically, do the two legs of iron = the fourth beast of Daniel Chapter seven = the woman atop the scarlet colored beast = the Dragon. All four therefore are symbolic of the fourth empire that will rule in the Times of the Gentiles: Rome.
