Chapter Four

The Woman and the Scarlet Colored Beast

     Part One

The Bible tells us that every word is established by two or three witnesses (Matt. 18:16, II Cor. 13:1). In the same sense
both the books of Daniel and the book of Revelation together give witnesses of the times we are now living and those soon to
come. However, when confronted with the intricate details in the book of Revelation, we often forget that the key to its
understanding is the simplicity of Daniel’s witness on the same subjects. Therefore, the only way to see the light and truth of
its message shine forth, is to first and foremost keep the testimony of Daniel close at hand. Perhaps no where else is this more
evident than when sorting out the identity of the characters in the book of Revelation.

In the next three chapters, we will illuminate the principal players that will rule over the world during the great tribulation by
the witness of the Word of God alone. In so doing, we will also confront many “well established” doctrines widely believed
to be true even in the most fundamental, soul winning, and God-fearing churches throughout our land today. Yet through
prayer and diligent study, I believe that the truth will prevail over even the most cherished of the false doctrines regarding our
Lord’s second coming, but only by first understanding the strength of Daniel’s testimony on all these events. This is again
what the Lord reminds us to do in I Timothy 4:16:
“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:
for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”

To start, we will focus on the “woman” and “the scarlet colored beast” that she sat upon. Here from Revelation Chapter
17 are two key players of whom many so called Bible prophecy experts have written volumes about. Yet, none of those
many books have captured the simple message of their identity as given to us in Daniel Chapter two. Here in the book of
Revelation, the Lord has symbolized the two legs of iron, which together also represent the fourth beast of Daniel chapter
seven, by first a “woman” and then secondly by a “scarlet colored beast” having seven heads and ten horns. The “woman” is
that great city which "reigneth" over the kings of the earth which is the first leg of iron. And the scarlet colored beast is the
second leg of Iron that the
“woman” rules over, which are the kings of the earth.

By example, just as
Herod and Pilot were separately strong as iron, but one in mind and purpose, they together represented
the fourth beast, the Roman Empire. To understand this simple truth is to now comprehend that the
“woman” as declared in
Revelation Chapters 17 & 18, and
“the scarlet colored beast” in Revelation Chapter 17 are likewise the fourth beast.
Failure to recognize that the
“woman” and “the scarlet colored beast” are, together, as two separate legs of iron, the
fourth beast of Daniel Chapter seven will lead the unwary student of Bible Prophecy directly into the deceptions of the
“Fall
of the Roman Empire”
and “The Revived Roman Empire.” Therefore, every word given to Daniel the prophet remains
true today and must be reconciled together with the testimony of John in the Revelation. Just as the Lord told Daniel the truth
of the fourth beast (Dan. 7:15-19), likewise the Lord also told John the truth of the “woman” and “the scarlet colored beast”
(Rev. 17:7). So also will the Lord tell the truth to all who will trust in this book of prophecies as the true, literal Word of God.

The first “leg of iron” that we will study is the “woman” that sat upon the beast. The first clue we are told about this
“woman” is that she is a great whore that "sitteth" upon many waters and commits fornication with the kings of the earth.
(Rev. 17:1-3) This is a woman that as a harlot did not commit the adultery of a married woman, but again the fornication of
an unmarried woman. This “woman” pretends to be of the body of Christ, but she never has nor ever will be part of the bride
of Christ. She commits her fornication with the kings of the earth. In the Bible, spiritual fornication is the practice of
worshiping false gods through idolatry.  She has worldwide influence and the inhabitants of the world have been intoxicated
by the wine of her fornication.

They are stupefied as by wine and unable to perceive the reign of terror that the “woman” has committed with the kings of
the earth. Together, they perpetrate a mass, worldwide deception over those whom they rule. Yet as all that commit
fornication in the darkness of night, the
“woman” and “the scarlet colored beast” know each others darkest secrets. Here
in these first three verses alone, the Bible tells us that all the kings of the earth and all the common rulers of the earth (Dan 2:
43), know the secrets of this “woman” and share her great power and wealth for their profit. This means that many whom we
elect at the highest levels of our government serve the “woman” and deceive their fellow countrymen; for the Bible tells us that
all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication (Rev 18:3).
A close look at the figure of a woman in the
center of the papal seal in the Barberini coat of arms reveals the clear impression of a naked woman bearing her
breasts as does a whore. The Papal seal itself reveals the truth of the whore of Babylon in the very heart of Saint
Peter’s Basilica at the base of the Baldachino.

and deserve some attention.”

The duty of the kings and the merchants of the earth to the “woman” is to spread her power and thereby devour the whole
earth, treading it down and breaking it in pieces (Dan 7:23). How else can we explain such treaties as the Global Agreement
on Trades and Tariffs (GATT) which in 1994 subjected all of our economic autonomy to the World Trade Organization
(WTO). Make no mistake that all the bewildering excuses of our government and those around the world will make no sense
until we understand that the Bible tells us that all kings and governments are under the authority of this
“woman.” Many have
asked who this woman is precisely. From Revelation Chapters 17 and 18, the Bible tells us where the woman is located and
secondly who the
“woman” is spiritually. First, the Bible gives several word puzzles that singly and together identify the
“woman” and where she is located:

1) The “woman” sits upon seven mountains (Rev 17:9)

“And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.”
Revelation 17:9

There are two prophetic applications of this verse. First as the seven heads or kingdoms that the Mystery Babylon religion
will sit upon over the centuries (See Revelation 17:10).  Secondly, she is the woman who literally sits (reigns) atop a city with
seven
“hills” (Revelation 17:18).  This city is Rome!

2) The “woman” is that “great city” which reigneth over the kings of the earth (Rev 17:18)

3) The “woman” has worldwide power (Rev 17:15, 18:2-3, 18:23-24)

“And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”
Revelation 17:18

There is only one city in the world that has nation’s status and there is only one city that has literally ruled over the kings of the
earth as a city and not a nation, state, or Empire. The only city in the world that both of these applies to is Vatican City in
Rome. This is that great city that reigns over the kings of the earth.  This is one leg of iron, this is the woman, and this is the
fourth beast of Daniel chapter 7. This is Vatican City!!

“Thousands of people continue in line to pay their last respects to late Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, April 7,
2005. The funeral of the Pope on Friday will draw the biggest gathering of the powerful and the humble in modern
times. Four kings, five queens, at least 70 presidents and prime ministers and more than 14 leaders of other
religions will attend alongside what the Vatican expects will be two million faithful; the largest number of pilgrims
to converge on St. Peter's Square in its history. REUTERS/Polizia Moderna/Handout”

4) The “woman” is a false Christian church that worships idols (Rev 17:2, 18:23)

“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is
in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth”
(Exodus 20:4)

There is one and only one city that can fulfill these verses, Rome itself and more specifically, Vatican City. There has only
been one city with nation’s status that has ruled over the world without being a nation, a state or an empire. Again no student
of history has any difficulty recognizing that the Pope ruled the world and the kings of the earth in the fifteenth century as well
as before and since. There is, again, only one false Christian church, consumed by idolatry that sits upon seven hills and has
worldwide power, the Roman Catholic Church. The Bible continues to announce her true identity to those who have
ears:

5) The “woman” has many true believers within her midst who are deceived by the wine of her fornication (Rev
17:2, 18:4)

“Incredibly enough, the woman representing faith (the Catholic Church) on the reverse side of the coins holds up
a cup in her right hand, in which you see pagan sunburst wafer god, which recalls these verses in Revelation:

Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and
pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have
committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her
delicacies.”

6)  The “woman” has great wealth (Rev. 18:11-19)

7) The “woman” promotes the arts (Rev 18:22)
